Victoria's High Notes Flute Choir
PERFORMERS
Judith Pazder graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance. She has taught in Windsor, Halifax and Vancouver. Judith is on faculty at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and has been the director of the Academy Flute Choir for the past 10 years. Judith is also involved in recorder teaching, study and performance.

Thomas Bauer, received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria. Thomas has played in the Canadian Wind Orchestra, and in 2015, premiered the Elliot Carter Flute Concerto with the UVIC Sonic Lab Ensemble. Thomas is currently teaching and a freelance performer in Victoria.

Kristina Stevens, a highly regarded chamber musician and choral conductor, was a student of Laurent Torno in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Oberlin College in Ohio, and more recently has studied with Barbara Eadie and Mary Byrne. Kristina’s love of flute choirs is rooted in her experience with Austin Scott’s Academy Flute Choir.

Kristina Stevens
Ceci Diemecke: studied at the National School of Music, Chamber Music and Symphony orchestra training at “Vida y Movimiento” School of Music. She retired from Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Veracruz, México after 31 years. Her recordings include the Mozart flute quartets in G Major K.285 and A Major, K.298.

Michelle Cox completed her music degree at the University of Victoria in 2001. She has performed with the Palm Court Orchestra, Royal Hawaiian Band, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, Sacramento Choral Society, and most recently with The Naden Band. She performs regularly now with the 5th Field Artillery Regiment Band and the Meridiem Wind Ensemble.

Cindy Speelman (BMus, AVCM, Suzuki Trained/Certified, BCRMTA) graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. Cindy has been trained extensively in Suzuki pedagogy in Canada, Japan and the USA.
